Hi!

My name is Amanda Seeta Haynes and I’m the writer/artist of the manga SmaranShakti.

This story combines two things I love—Indian culture and Anime/Manga. As a kid living in the Caribbean, I grew up in an Indo-Caribbean family and my roots stem partly from Indian origin. I was obsessed with Bollywood films and Anime and quickly wanted to make a story of my own which has become a life-long passion.

After many setbacks and re-creations, I’ve finally set out to continually publish a series of manga books to share my story with the world.

The inspiration for this project came from the fact that there are not many stories about Indian people or culture being told in mainstream media. I know lots of individuals out there love manga and anime, but don't see themselves represented enough in those genres. And I wanted to be a part of this wave of growing creators showcasing the beauty of Indian culture. So this manga series was created with you in mind as well as anyone interested in indian culture!
